you are 100% right Whitey Smith Sr is as good of horseman that ever lived but was not a very good teamster and I have known many very good teamsters that were not good horseman

Whitey Sr. had the boys for driving they did what he told them to, and was good at it.

The best horseman i have ever known was the late Robert Lee Steele also known as Big Bob. Thare was nothing he did not know about a horse.

Bobby was a fine one thats for sure

Bobby Williams has learned from some of the best ever,and hasn't forgot a thing.He can take the lines of any pair and before he gets to the sled,know what he is going to have to do to get the best out of a pair of horses

Bobby Williams is a very good horseman a good black smith and a good teamster also.

It is a very few that have the gift of being a horsemen, driver, and a caretaker...The list of people that have or had the gift can be debated.

I would like to speak for the caretakers. Alone we don't do so good but if the horsemen or the drivers are alone they don't do so good either (except in my case).

When the right combination is put together no matter where you pull or what you pull the results will speak for themselves.

The horses do the work but the rest of the team gets them there to show their strentgh...
