2008 Inductee
Max Ledyard
Camden, Michigan

Mr. Max Ledyard left this word on July 27, 2001. He left
behind a legacy of lightweight and heavyweight World records, numerous
horsemanship awards and an unbelievable amount of horse transactions. He
dealt with all kinds of equine enthusiasts! Numerous years were spent
buying and shipping horses for the Japanese market. Mr. Ledyard owned and
operated Tri State Connections in Camden, buying, selling and training horses.
He was an independent trucker, hauling mainly cattle and of course horses.
Max's father became ill before a pony pull. Max asked if
he could take the ponies to the pull anyway. That was around 1968.
Max was hooked on pulling from that moment on! Mr. Ledyard began pulling
draft horses in 1973 and a succession of World Records began in 1979.
