Sixteen
year old
Kevin Tinkham of
Hesperia, Michigan has been competing in horsepulling events for 6 years.
He presently competes in the heavyweight division in his home state of Michigan
with a couple pair of horses. Kevin got his start in horsepulling as a
toddler by riding the exercise sled with his grandfather Al Tinkham. He
has now graduated from just hitching a ride on the exercise sled to working,
shoeing and driving the horses in competition. Along with his grandfather his
grandmother, father and aunt have also participated in horsepulling contests.
Kevin is presently working on finishing his last year of schooling. He
claims he doesn't have a favorite pull. He enjoys them all. Kevin
gets a lot of pleasure out of giving his horses the best care and in return
hopes they will give him their best efforts at the pulls.
