Blain "Maynard" Patrick
of Orangeville, Michigan is nearly 15
years old and has been around pulling horses since he learned to walk. He
started pulling his Grandpa Pennepacker's team at Farm Days in Michigan when he
was 8. Maynard joined the Michigan Horse Pulling Boat Association 4 years ago
and has pulled his own team, Bud & Jerry in the heavyweight class ever since.
He works his own team everyday. He has made several great friends pulling and
is always willing to help out any of his competitors usually hooking for several
different teams while pulling his own. He really enjoys being around the other
teamsters. Maynard is most proud of the Horsemanship Award he won at the pull
in Barryton in 2004. His Uncle Steve Pennepacker is always helping him out
when Grandpa can not and has been a big influence in his pulling and always
encourages him to do his best. He truly thanks his Grandpa and Uncle Steve for
all they have done for him. Now in the tenth grade Maynard plans on being a vet
after he is done with his schooling. |
